Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

In practice, a Reiki session looks like lying on a table fully clothed while the practitioner directs universal life energy to various areas of the body to enhance your body’s innate intelligence to heal itself.  It works on all levels - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual spheres.  Recipients leave feeling refreshed, calm, and at ease.  The best healing occurs when our nervous systems are relaxed.

CranioSacral work is also a light touch modality which assumes the body knows where it needs help, and the practitioner follows that lead.  There are some sessions during which emotions which have become fixed in the body can be released, allowing the body to shed the physical restrictions which could cause physical dis-ease.

By freeing the central nervous system to perform at its best, CST has been shown to naturally reduce pain and stress, strengthen your resistance to disease, and enhance your health and well-being.

Massage therapy is more well known and helps drain lymph, relax overused muscles, generally cause a state of relaxation and rejuvenation, and is an excellent opportunity to rest the mind as well.  Leave your session feeling better!!

Each session is unique, as is each person and each need.  I start where you are and go from there, following you and your body’s need.

We are made to be whole, and when we give ourselves the opportunity to stop and listen, the body can respond.  Your session begins with letting your nervous system know it’s safe.  My approach often includes a combination of massage therapy, Reiki, and CranioSacral work according to the need.

Also available:

Cupping, a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice to help manage muscle tension and dispel stagnation and improve life energy.

Gua Sha, another TCM practice involving scraping along acupuncture meridians to reduce pain, relieve stagnation,  and increase rejuvenation.

Ear Candling is believed to improve your ability to hear by irrigating and cleansing the Eustachian tubes.  It helps by clearing the ear canal of any built-up wax that may be causing pressure around your inner ears.

Margaret’s healing space is welcoming and relaxing.  Expect to feel renewed and rejuvenated.

Margaret makes her own organic CBD salve and generally uses coconut oil for massage.  Please let me know if you have sensitivity to any scents.

The healing room (otherwise known as the Luna Room) is on the second floor.  If stairs are an issue for you, we can set up a massage table on the first floor.

A dog and two cats live here.  Mac the Border Collie especially enjoys greeting visitors with his frisbee.

If circumstances prevent you from keeping an appointment, 24 hours notice is appreciated.  If you are not here for our scheduled time, then that time is not available for someone else.   Office policy is to charge for a missed appointment after the second no show.
